Plant Lavender seeds indoors 6 to 10 weeks before the last frost. Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep with plenty of sunlight or grow lights. Lavender does best in wet, warm soil between 70-80 F. After 14 to 28 days, seedlings will emerge. Before transplanting to the garden, turn the soil to a depth of 8". Dig a hole to accommodate the Lavender's root ball. Place the root ball 4 to 6" deep. Space plants 30" apart.

Harvest lavender when the color is brightest and the fragrance is strongest. Collect your lavender plants in the morning when the plant is dry by cutting at the base of the flower just above the stem.
