Herb: Italian Oregano Planting Instructions:
Plant seeds in high-quality, well-draining soil after the last frost, in full sun. Seeds should be 1/4 inch deep in rows spaced 8-12" apart. Keep the plant soil cool and damp. After a period of 5-6 weeks, trim the plants back to promote dense growth. For the optimal oregano patch, allow flower seeds to drop on their own. Remove plants that are 3-4 years old.

Herb: Italian Oregano Harvesting Instructions:
Pick your Herb Italian Oregano leaves when they are fresh and mature. To dry, cut flower stems with flower heads not-yet fully bloomed and place on wire racks in a cool, airy space. Once the leaves are dry, pick and store in an air-tight container.

Did You Know This About Italian Oregano?
The word oregano derives from the Greek phrase, "joy of the mountains." In Rome and Greece, oregano wreaths were used as crowns on recently married couples, while in cemeteries, oregano was placed on the graves of the dearly departed, to give the spirits peace.
