Herbs: Basil - Cinnamon Planting Instructions:
Basil does best in full sun, planted 1/4 inch deep and 12 to 18" apart. Grow time is around 85 days. Plant basil seeds in fertile soil and make sure the seeds get a steady supply of moisture. Basil needs warm soil temperatures. In cool areas, wait to mulch until the soil temperature is in the mid-60s. In hotter regions, or once the summer heat has picked up, add mulch sooner. Basil is vulnerable to even mild frost, so you should harvest the remainder of your crop if the temperatures will dip into the 30s.

Herbs: Basil - Cinnamon Harvesting Instructions:

Basil's flavor is strongest when it is used fresh. Harvest the plant just as it starts to set flower buds. Harvest the entire plant around every three weeks. Basil can also be dried for long-term storage. To protect the flavor of dried basil, store it in the freezer. To store basil pesto or basil packed in olive oil, freeze in ice cube trays and then transfer to plastic bags for storage.
